Under-Stair Storage
Take advantage of wasted space under your basement stairs with these built-in storage units. The adjustable shelves can be arranged to fit whatever items you need packed away—camping supplies, sports equipment, even scrap lumber from your woodworking shop.
The plan starts with building a sturdy 2x4 base on the floor, followed by a series of cleats that hold the vertical dividers in place. We made the cleats by routing a dado down the center of a 2-1/4" strip of MDF. To make everything adjustable, we used shelf support pins, found at your local home center.
