Workbench Cabinet

Traditional, European-style workbenches have a lot of open space under the benchtop. Many woodworkers simply add a shelf over the stretchers to create some storage space. But this Workbench Cabinet is designed to maximize the storage capacity of that space. And as an added benefit, when it's full of tools, the cabinet's weight adds strength and stability to the bench.

Note: This cabinet is designed to fit the Woodsmith European-style maple workbench. However, it may fit your workbench. The overall size of the cabinet is 48-3/8" wide x 21" deep x 16-1/8" high.

The Workbench Cabinet is an open-front plywood box that's divided into two compartments. The left side is a large open space for storing bulky items like power tools behind a flip-up door. The right compartment has five drawers for hand tools and hardware.

If you're not interested in drawers and want larger storage areas, we've included plans for an optional design with sliding doors and adjustable shelves.

Overall dimensions: 48-3/8" wide x 21" deep x 16-1/8" high
